Frequently asked questions

Can it extract subtitles from every video?

No. This MVP reads supported text tracks in standard MP4 and MOV containers. Unsupported formats are clearly reported.

Can it extract burned-in captions?

No. Burned-in subtitles are video pixels, not an embedded subtitle track. Audio transcription can create new captions.

What if there is no subtitle track?

Choose Generate subtitles from audio to run local Whisper transcription on the same file.
